how to save a life

I wake up in the morning and it's usually hard to get out of bed. How long will that feeling last? I don't know.
Ryan says it will last till the day you dont walk around with your head down but look up at the sky, watch the clouds and smile.

Some days are harder than others. I wake up, I gently place Momo's head on the pillow. It usually is resting on my stomach, my chest or my face. He wakes up anyway and meows gently. Sometimes it solicits a smile, othertimes, I just get out of bed and get ready for the day.

I do the things people usually do before they get to work. The house is empty. Mom's away to teach and my sister's away at school. My cat keeps me company, him trotting along with his little paws to keep up with my hurried morning routine.
I leave him in the house alone with a few words of advice - behave till amma comes, eat some cat food, dont break anything - I love you, moe.. And I'm out the door.

I sit in the bus, I watch traffic. I keep glancing at my phone and think, he would have called by now to tell me that he just woke up. Silly boy. Always late to work. Sometimes the thought makes me smile. Othertimes, the thought lingers long enough to remind me that he will probably never do that again and I stop staring at the phone and continue to watch traffic.

I'm talking and laughing with my colleagues. I'm eating the lunch my mother packed me, at the cafeteria. I'm having conversations with the occasional friend who calls. I'm drinking hot chocolate from the vending machine at work.
Through it all, I wonder what he's doing. Is he at work? Is he home for lunch? Is he at an event somewhere? Is he eating and sleeping on time?

Its only natural - all my friends say. They message me, email me, call me, go out to dinner and drinks with me - keep that chin up, you'll be alright. I'm listening to them. I am.

One Sunday after I woke up, I went to the kitchen and hugged my mother. All I did was cry. I didn't say one word, I only cried. She held me. She didn't ask any questions. Only told me that it was for the best. We were two good people who weren't good for each other and in time, we will both realise it. In time.
She lost the man she loved and lived with for twenty five years. Till date, I have never seen her break down in front of my sister or me. I have a feeling I still have a lot to learn from my mother.

I lie in bed at the end of the day. I never sleep without thinking about him and wishing him goodnight in my head. I know that he will never again call to tell me he is still at work. I will never complain that he works too hard, that he should have eaten dinner by now, that he should be home and in bed, because it's already past eleven.
I will never get to tell him that I missed him the whole day and that even if he gets home by 2am, to call me before he goes to bed.
These days, before sleeping, my phone is switched to silent mode.

He still calls sometimes. I do too. Conversation is cordial. We try hard to talk about things that are inane. Invariably, 'us' creeps in. I ask him if he's started seeing someone already. He chuckles and asks me if I'm crazy. I tell him I won't see anyone for the longest time to come. It's hard getting over you. I still think about you. I miss you sometimes. I can't imagine being with someone else so soon. I love you. Hey, me too ... I love you too.
Then one of us stops. Silence lingers, the conversation fades away. We say our goodbyes.

I write this post today, because this morning, when I was in the bus to work, I looked at the sky. I thought of what Ryan said, I looked at the clouds and I smiled. I kept that chin up. I'll be alright.

I still will have to remind myself often to feel the pain but not act on it. I will still miss him for a long time to come. I will still wonder whom he's talking to and how long it will take for another girl to take my place. Will she be prettier than me? Maybe have longer hair. I'm sure she'll be funny. He likes girls with a good sense of humour. WIll she take care of him. He needs to be reminded to eat and sleep on time.

One day, I will see him with another girl and be happy for him. I should remind myself to tell Ryan that THAT will be the day. That will be the day that I am truly over him.

Anyway, maybe tomorrow morning, when Moe looks at me and meows, after a yawn and a good stretch, I'll kiss him on his little button nose and tell him that I love him. I should. Because I do.

well,, isn't that the cat's meow

I'm in love.. yes I am ! This time with my cat, Cinnamon Iyer.

My sister and I drove up to the shetler one fine saturday afternoon. We knew we wanted a cat. According to my mom's instructions, a male cat who MUST be fixed. Of course.

So we walke
d into the cattery and looked a number of prospectives. Somehow my sister and I couldn't decide on one. Then we heard that there was one wonderful kitty. Very affectionate, most healthy. Only problem, the tabby cat had an accident about a year ago when he was about six months old and had to have his right foreleg removed. He was fixed and was male..

Well, I have to admit, I wasn't without trepidation. Neither was little Juj. We went and took a look at who would become our new little baby! My sister fell in love with him instantly. He had the cutest face and when I picked him up.. he didn't make the slightest noise.. purred gently and started snuggling up. We had found a winner.

We gave him all his shots and drove him back home. Cat food, litter box in place. He came home and now he's the man of the house.. and he knows it!

Don't let his three leggedness fool you. He's as naughty and as perky as the regular tom cat. He has a number of other names that we call him in endearment of course .. (cough cough). Lovingly, his names range from Langda Tyagi, Tripod, nondi poone (that's my mother's contribution) to ey handicapped bum, Elvis (which is what Ganatra keeps calling him), you need a cinnamon stick to help you walk better .. umm .. my poor baby... He takes it all in his stride though (pun intended and all). He gets spoilt rotten by my
sister and I.

Ganatra came over and met him.. how the sparks flew .. he's ready to snuggle up to anyone and sleep .. he's also learnt to throw tantrums when he's angry and when he's hungry. Learning from his owners.. what a smart one.
If i continue with this, i will never
finish.. But as a grand finale to this post, I am posting a piece written about Cinnamon by my good friend (cough cough ), Ashwin.. Sadistic, twisted , well meaning humour.. very tam bram. I like!

I tot I taw 3/4th of a puddy-tat!

Dee Iyer has been cheated. Last week, she broke into a fit of buying a cat. Much to her mother’s dismay, on Ganesh Chaturthi, a new guest came home…An cat with 3 legs.

Now, let’s assume that a cat costs Rs.100/-. How much would you pay for a three-legged cat? In my head, I’d pay Rs.75/-. Simple….for 3/4th of a cat, I’d pay 3/4th of Rs.100. BUT NO…Dee pays nothing and gets home a three-legged cat that is also STERALIZED. Sheesh, I can’t believe that a smartie like Dee allowed herself to be taken for a cat-sized ride like this. A sterilized, 3 legged cat downloaded on her for free.

That’s not all. Dee’s feeling all sanguine about the cat and ends up calling her sterilized-three-legged-pet as Cinnamon. Sangiune…Cinnamon? I’d call it Reddy!

It’s ok Dee, I’ll overlook these little incidents when it comes to your annual friend appraisal and evaluation!

never say goodbye (english informal title)

i am writing this entry for two reasons:
1, because i was tagged by aria ..
2, i watched kabhi alvida na kehna yesterday and i thought i must educate the world on the genius who is karan johar..
so why not combine two posts in one.. i'm a smart one.. i am.
so here goes:

. i'm thinking about: how k.a.n.k preceeded by an 's' would sound either like skank or skunk, depends on which way you want to pronounce it, of course.
skank: (noun) any substance considered disgustingly foul or unpleasant.
skunk: (noun) mammal having a bushy tail and black fur with white markings and ejecting a foul-smelling oily liquid from glands near the anus when frightened or in danger.

i needn't say anymore.. karan johar did this to himself. abbreviating and all. moron.

. i said: amma!it's directed by karan johar!! the movie is four hours long!!!!!
she said: i don't care. you and your sister are coming with me.

. i want: a fish fillet burger, fries and coke from mc.donalds for lunch again. me mom kept up to her end of the bargain. you come with me for the movie. mc.donalds meal on me. deal i said. lets go. we'll miss the beginning, dammit.

. i wish: i had a party to go to that was down the road tonight too.

. i hear: people asking me how much sleep i caught during the movie..
pffft i scoff at their arrogance. at pvr? please.. their international standard audio systems don't afford you that luxury. now really. the tickets cost that much for a reason.

. i wonder: many things.
a, how could amitabh bachan still be so graceful and elegant even at that age. he was the only good thing about the movie. in fact, he was great.
b, how much production spent on glycerine to make rani mukherjee cry that much?
c, how karan johar came up with such great witticisms such as: sexy sam.. sexy sam.. wham bam wham bam thank you sam... truly touching.

. i regret: nothing.. oh gosh no.. it was a great learning experience..

. i dance: yes.. john abraham commanded me to.. dance with me baby, wont you dance with me allnight.. wont you party party party, wont you burn the floor tonight? he asked.. how can anyone say no. going to nacho all i night, i am.

. i sing: sapnon ke din hain .. sapnon ke ratein !! i can't get those blasted lines outta my head..

. i cry: yes i do, 'nuff said. so does everyone in that movie. i am not lying.. EVERYONE in that movie cries at some point. with rani taking the lead of course.

. i am not always: this critical.

. i make with my hands: clickety click noises messaging lady beryl and nj during the movie.. asking them what i did in my last birth to deserve this. as if they knew .. pffft.

. i write: to tell you that the truth is out there.. playing at every theatre in sight, love will find a wayyyyyy .. jannniiyeeeeee .. it took love four hours and nine hundred wrong turns to find its way though. poor thing.

. i confuse: rani mukherjee with a leaking faucet.

. i need: lots of diet coke. this post made me relive the k.a.n.k experience all over again. dammit.

. i tag: no one. just go watch the movie. you must. must. must.

before i go! i must add this bit of conversation that i had with mala belavangala on msn about k.a.n.k

malavika says:
yeah too long...but i like the concpt
malavika says:
keep looking for someone you love...even if it means marrying ppl along the way
dee iyer says:
i like that one mala
dee iyer says:
can i put it up on my blog?
malavika says:
oh k hehee

she's the cutest.. teehee ..
true.. keep looking for someone you love .. even if it means marrying people on the way .. :)

did i really type this?

now what is all this fuss about orkut? no seriously? i ask you.. i spend hours on it a day. the bloody window is always minimized when i'm at work and i'm taking breaks from copywriting just to refresh the window to see how many scraps i got. ..

on to the next topic of discussion.

some man who read me blog - arvind the terrible - he calls himself, posted the most intriguing comment on my last blog post. did you really write this yourself - or something to that effect.
indignition. thats all i feel. i'm a writer, godammit. not some ctrl+c, ctrl+v person. now give me a little credit. and to answer that question.
yes. i did write that last post, myself.

accenture has added a whole new perspective to my life. yes i am part of creative processes there, yes i am their copy writer. but you see, i actually just a number. no wait.. actually two.
my computer has a number, and then as an individual i do. so anything i do, or need, or ask for, they don't want my name and designation, no.. they don't even care..
can i have your workstation number please? and your ID number? thank you.. please hold...
no .. no.. esteemed, call centre person.. thank you! for helping me solve my problems and making me feel like part of the matrix. i am you know.

so my id card isn't working one day, and i need to swipe the damn thing to get back into my bay, to get out of the rest room, yada yada. so lets just say that if you lose your id.. you don't get to pee. that's the only thing that keeps me holding on to it for dear life, as only one of my kidneys is functioning... i'm so sure of it.
the help desk checks my card and they knew the last place i used it at.. this gets me staring at them .. and in my head i'm thinking.. is there a gps on that.. lab rat.. lab rat..

sorry.. thats a song i just made up in my head.. the chorus goes .. is there a gps on that.. ? lab rat .. you're nothing but a lab rat..
woe is me and all that.

ka

Garuda was born an eagle, as the son of the rishi Kashyapa and his wife Vinutha. Kashyapa was married to both Vinutha and her sister, Kadru.
Before leaving to the forest to spend the rest of his life in meditation, Kashyapa granted both sisters one wish each. Kadru asked for a thousand children of equal splendour in haste and a thousand snakes are born to her.
Vinutha, also in haste, to out do her sister, asked for 2 children who are both more beautiful and stronger than all of Kadru’s 1000 children.
Sceptical of Vinutha’s wish, Kashyapa said ‘ you will have one and half’. With this, he left with his stick and never returned again.

These were the first words Garuda heard from his mother. He listened to her in rapt attention, having many questions, but waiting patiently before asking.
By his mother’s side, he noticed his aunt Kadru, as beautiful and stunning as her sister, but with only one eye and a thousand snakes slithering over her beautiful body.

Vinutha had waited long for Garuda’s birth. She was cursed by her first son Aruna whose egg she hatched too soon, in anticipation of her first child. She then understood why the rishi said she would only have one and a half children - Aruna was born deformed.
In his wrath over his condition, he curses his mother that she would be her sister’s slave for 500 years and only after 500 years will her next egg hatch.
Aruna then, with his deformed body took to the skies to became Surya’s charioteer. He never spoke to his mother again.

Everytime Vinutha watched the sun rise, she is reminded of her mistake and learns that impatience is the only sin.

Chapter 2:

Vinutha and Kadru were the only human beings on earth, other than Kadru’s children who were all born snakes.
One day by the ocean, both sisters noticed a bright light at the horizon which grew in size to form the outline of a horse. The horse was so bright and distinct that the world at the time comprised only of the horse, the skies and the seas.

The horse then raised its hoofs over the water and the skies and was suspended in this most elegant form.
The horse was Uccaihashravas, the creature that was born when the ocean was churned. The white horse was one of then gems (ratnas) that came about by the the churning of the ocean.

Chapter 3:

In the beginning of time, the Gods and the Asura’s (antigods) roamed the earth with no purpose. The Gods meditated, sharpened their senses - but still found no purpose for their existence. They prayed to Vishnu for an answer who then whispered to Brahma who explained that the answer would come when the ocean was churned and the milk of the ocean (soma) floated up.
But this daunting task had to be done with the help of the Asuras. At first the Gods rebelled against this. Finally, though, since the Devas had nothing to lose, given the fultility of their lives, they agreed.
They thought : we will do anything so far as there be a trial, a risk and a task.

Chapter 4:

It was this soma that Garuda was required to bring for his mother as ransom to release her from the servitude she owed her sister and her serpent nephews and nieces.
Finally Garuda spoke: Mother, he asked, how is it that you became slave to your sister.

It happened as both sisters bet on the colour of the horse. With her sharp eyes, and heightened senses, Vinutha perceived that the horse was sheer white. When the sister’s reached the horse after flying over the ocean to the horizon, Kadru showed her sister, one black hair on the ontherwise untainted horse.
Vinutha suspected this was one of Kadru’s snake children who took the form of a black hair.
Vinutha could not prove this, and hence was forced to accept defeat.

Garuda’s mission hence was to find the soma and release his mother. Famished, his mother asked him to find some Nishada’s to eat (nishadas are children born of a brahmin and the daughter of a shudra). Eat only Nishada’s but not Brahmans. They are poison, if they curse you, you will be doomed, she warned her son.

Garuda then lifted his massive wings and flew to find the nishada’s. He gulped them down to his fill. After this he felt a need to speak to his father, and again, taking flight, he caused hurricanes in his path due to his mighty strenght and flew to find his father.

Chapter 5:

Kashyapa was anticipating his son’s arrival. As soon as Garuda found Kashyapa meditating, he understood why his mother warned him about the Brahmins - only they knew the vedas and they fed themselves by feeding ON themselves.
Kashyapa said nothing to his son, but to find the elephant and the turtle that lived in the great lake and quarelled perpetually. Kashyapa ordered his son to carry these two gigantic beasts and to eat them on the branches of the Rauhina tree.

Be careful not to offend the Vaalakhilyas : he was warned.

Chapter 6:

Garuda found the beasts and took them to the Rauhina tree. In his haste, he broke of the branches of the tree and then realised his folly. The Vaalakhiyas were brahmans the size of a thumb that meditated on the branches of the Rauhina tree.
The Vaalakhilyas were terribly upset, for their fragile, translucent bodies were not accustomed to being disturbed.
‘I did not vex you on purpose, great Vaalakhilyas,’ apologised Garuda. I will take this branch and i will land you some place safe. This I promise you.’

And so with the elephant, the turtle in his claws and the branch in this beak, Garuda set out to safely land the Vaalakhiya’s whom he disturbed from their sacred meditation. But in vain. He roamed the earth but did not find the perfect place to land them.

Chapter 7:

Then by the Gandhamaadana, east of the Himalaayas, Garuda found his father. HIs father spoke directly to the Vaalakhiyas to whom he said : Garuda is my son and a great bird. Please take leave of him, if you think well of me. With this, the Vaalakhiyas alighted the branch and dispersed between the long blades of grass heading toward the Himalaayas.

Why father, did they obey you, questioned Garuda.
He then learnt the story of Indira, the King of the Devas, whom in his arrogance, laughed at the small Vaalakhiyas who were trying to get to the other side of a water puddle on a blade of grass. He found it amusing, their struggles and pushed them back into the water with his heel.

The following day, the Vaalakhiyas visited the great rishi Kashyapa and offered him their tapas. This tapas contained the cosmic heat and the heat within their minds. They offered Kashyapa this heat to pass into his seed to produce another Indira, who would be the Indira of the birds. For only this creature would be able to be the scourge of the Indira who mocked them in their helplessness.

That night, when Kashyapa made love to his wife Vinutha, he passed on this tapas to her womb. And as she felt the passion of his love in each of her pores, she also felt his energy draining into her very soul.
And hence Garuda was born - to be an Indira of the Birds.

the week that was

1. introduced ganatra and neeru to south park. neeru said: it has it's moments. ganatra didn't understand why i keep harping on about it.
how can anyone not understand the cynical satiral witty happiness that south park gives those who truly deserve it?
i suppose these things happen.

2. went to buy meself some reading material - three dilbert books and one fight club. i love the movie.. fight club, not dilbert.. but there is something very disturbing about the book. it's dark, in a way that it vexes me. i couldn't keep it down, but when i was finally done with it, it left me .. umm .. uncertain? no.. perturbed. in a way that i'm glad the movie wasn't an exact copy and my mind now treats the movie and the book as two separate entities.
i am jack's haunted mind.

3. i broke away from my brief, yet extremely passionate affair with freelancing. an american corporate company seduced me with the promise of job security, steady incomes, nice aircinditioned office, and transport. i will soon be working with the marcom dept at accenture.
we now have corporate sponsorship.

from molecules to humanity

it’s been hard lately…. thinking up new ‘witty’ puns to make for more iyer jokes. takes a iyer understanding. i’m going to stop.. now.

it’s also been hard for me to understand me feelings lately. i don’t know if i’ve been thinking too much, or too much about all the wrong things. i’ll go with theory two. because i’ve been thinking a lot about my dad.
it hurts as i write this post too. one part of my brain is thinking ‘this is too personal to share on a public forum?’ - another part doesn’t
care. it feels ok.
making words out of the haziness in my head.

i was just reading my older post - fairy wings - that i wrote less than a month after he passed away and i was almost amused at how strong i seemed.

thank god for cynicism and sarcasm and for my ability to use them as a defense mechanism. i try and make it easier for the people around me all the time. you need to. no point other people feeling uncomfortable about your loss. personal loss is something no one can truly empathise with… no matter how much of a similar position they might have been in.

so i end up making fun of him a lot, when i’m talking to other people about him.. maybe then they’ll think i handled it like a mature person.

’so my dad actually thought that the alien theory of religion might have some relevance to today’s fanatical practices! ha .. ‘
‘my dad read this book on osho and insisted
that i read it to try to see if i liked it.. yeah .. ha-ha’
‘my dad was slightly dyslexic i think, he actually misspelt my name in his will. its diYva.. now my sister will claim she doesn’t know anyone by that name! teehee’

‘this ring i wear as a pendant on this chain, its my dad’s wedding ring… reckoned if i dont get anything from the will, this diamond ring is worth something… :) ‘

there.. its all a riot. for me. all the time.

but sometimes it isn’t so funny. thats when the dreams come. they come and they go. they’re uninvited guests that come and stay .. even after dinner… even after i go to sleep. they just don’t go away, ghosts of muddled memories that stand over my bed and watch me sleep.

he’s there like he normally would be, at a family gathering, or at home watching tv. in the dream , i’m talking to him like i always would, but i also am aware that he’s dead/dying. i’m confused in the dreams. always.

they’re still there when i wake up. faint and misty, but it takes a while to get up, kick myself in the arse and pretend that i’m fine and ready for a great new day.

don’t get me wrong. i’m getting up and getting on with my life. i’m fine. i’m thinking too much. thats all. the dreams have been re-running in my head more days than not lately. maybe its because it’s just in the past few that i talk about him in past tense. i make a conscious effort to. my mom doesn’t have to remind me. no one does.
i remember. i know he’s gone.

i just think about him a lot and wonder if he ever thinks of me.

siddhartha buddha, in his lifetime, said: “it is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. then the victory is yours. it cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”

maybe one day, when i do conquer myself, the dreams will come and i will have accepted that he’s gone and it will not be taken from me… not my angels or demons, not by heaven or hell.

nyahaha

comment on last blog says: youve been tagged. i'm thinking huh? then i read this.. and now im like huh? again. yes... on tagger's blog i read,

'The people I have tagged are

1. Divya - For her ever comical approach to life .'

a-haha.. i am now a taggee .. and the person who tagged me thinks i have an ever comical appraoch to life.. errrr.. yyyeess. ok then.

the rules of the game are:

. tagged victim has to come up with eight difference points for their perfect lover.
. need to mention sex of the target.
. have to find eight victims to join this game by commenting on their post that they've been tagged.
. no need to do it if you get tagged a second time.

mush city, it seems, roses are red, violets are blue, with valentines day ahead, of what im saying, i have no clue.. ignore.. ignore.. i'm trying to get some mush into my system.

1. my perfect lover must smell nice. always. must smell clean more than nice.

2. my perfect lover must discuss math sums with me on the phone in an attempt to get into mensa. this is greatly aprreciated since it makes me feel like my inputs on bodmas rule (division, multiplication, addition, subtraction) make me very very intelligent.

3. my perfect lover should be a good hand-holder. i'm a very hand holdy person with my boyfriend. ugh..

4. my perfect lover must ruffle my hair and say i love you, sweets every so often. i like being treated like a pup. its most endearing. i'm most endearing, is what i meant to say.

5. my perfect lover must listen to all the things i say all day and keep going hmm, at regular intervals and must have witty answers to you're not listening at all, vipul, are you?

6. my perfect lover must know how to give the cuddliest hugs. therein lies my biggest weakness - cuddly hugs. i am a very demanding hug person. perfect lover must know how to react to 'huggy?' in strange places at strange times.

7. my perfect lover and i must have our own special language which only we understand, even if it consists of conversations of varying lengths only comprised of umm and hmm and fantastic voice modulations. for eg. 'hmm? hmmmm.. ummm? uh huh. hmm, goodnight.' .
those work best, i tell you. because perfect lover and i will pretend that we are soo metaphysically connected that we understand every syllable uttered.. hell .. we understand every syllable even before it was uttered, but then actually no one understands what anyone said but we are still very content and everyone goes to sleep.

8. my perfect lover should be my best friend and i assure you, he is.

.dee out.

everyone make sure you read the post under this, its hilarious, my crokydiles are!

sorry i forgot to add this earlier: the eight people i chose to tag are: lady beryl, dr.pissed, karuna, ijit pinjit, bhaaya chiru, zof and matt.

lah dee dah , ms.iyer

it’s not easy being pseudo intellectual. it’s not easy being pseudo british either. every morning for the past three months , i have been waking up to liam gallagher hurling abuses at fans in wembley stadium. great advances in cellular technology at the sony ericsson labs afford me the luxury of waking up to his voice as my alarm signal.

i never understand why exactly i chose this rather rude monologue to shake me up from long periods of hebetude. it is ,im convinced , intricately intertwined with the reason i watch bbc instead of cnn and say ‘arse’ instead of ‘ass’. i grew up to my mother humming along to songs sung by the beatles and my father watching ‘yes, minister!’. so i’d like to think that subliminally i have been programmed to spell programmed as p-r-o-g-r-a-m-m-e-d and subliminally programmed to have a low tolerance for it being spelt anyhow else. although in all my idiocy , i must admit that the americans also do spell programme in the past tense as programmed. but you get the point and now all my attempts at being witty and satirical have been screwed over.

never mind.

i rather enjoy my long bouts of do-nothingness. so it vexes me when i hear that only-too-familiar voice that sends sound waves through my auditory nerve to my brain and forces it out of inertia. i wake up extremely sulky and walk into the hall on my way to the bathroom. enroute i grunt 'coffee' to nobody in particular , and its amazing how it always is ready before i sit on the sofa to read the funnies. i’m not too sure , but i do think my dear mother has something to do with it.

the bathroom is my sanctuary. it is where most people to do the mundane things that society requires them to do before they step out to face the world.

but me , i truly awaken when i am in the shower. i enjoy every minute of it, squeezing larger-than-necessary amounts of nice smelling viscous liquids on the loofah and on my hair. my favourite fifteen minutes of the day. i feel a great sense of exhilaration that my skin is now glowing and hair is now in all its élan thanks to the extracts of ylang ylang, aloe, jojoba, echinacea ; sunflower seed oil , swiss botanicals, hydrolysed silk protein , mint leaves , beeswax and rabbit’s foot.

when im done with my shower , my mother says i leave the bathroom like a tsunami hit it. that’s been happening only since December 26th 2004. before that, it was a tornado.

alsooooo my baby sister has started blog ! everyone must go see. chicken foot - thats her there.

.dee out

p.s for no apparent reason , but for the fact that she will be leaving cks tomorrow, this post goes out to my sweetie aunty jade lotus. thank you for all the ‘zen’ .

a face to the name

i was thinking .. and also my thought was greatly influenced by a number of factors (and lady beryl's protesters outside my office... with placards screaming UPDATE !!! .. damn . i knew i should have maintained top security about my work and whereabouts ) ..

ok .. now hopefully everyone has understood the train of my thought .. cheee. that sounds sooo cliche.. train of thought , it seems ..
anyway... where i left off..

i was thinking . i give you children in depth accounts of my life and the people in it .. with not one picture.. no .. there seem to be many stories .. but no pictures.. maybe of food .. and borrowed comics , but no people ..

yes ..
which reminds me of a story ... to the left , you will see a sweet picture of my sister...16 years of age .. how cute no.. she had an accident on the scooty where this loony old lady came and stopped right in front of jinja's bike .. and then the old lady had broken toe , broken nose and three stitches on head.. i must say for her first accident , although obviously traumatised , the little one handled it very very calmly. i was very very impressed. took the lady to the hospital and called my mom and i there..

calling me obviously wasnt the greatest of ideas.. the evening ended pretty late with the old lady's (older.. if you please ) sister calling me a malicious young woman .. tut is all i have to say .. tut ... all i asked for was a written receipt for the money we paid as hospital expences... other story .. other time ...

now thats me and hasina ( cubicle cockroach .. are you working hard .. or hardly working .. hhhahahaa .. how unfunny indeed) .. thats us at pecos .. the day I sprayed pepper spray in a public place.. do i look apologetic.. i think not..
my zulfon wali is leaving the office soon .. how will i ever .. ever surrviivveee. ? i sing to her everyday ..
that seems to make her wait for her departure from cks with greater eagerness.... ijit bas
tid..

my mom , rajashree ,
i call her ma .. like da or ba or ra , except make the 'm' sound first..
thought i'd put her on the site.. just ..

that picture i took from the top of my bunk bed , thats not really a bunk bed , its like the study table is below the bed , you can see my sisters study table .. its across the room from mine..
does your phone have the option of taking cool sepia tone pictures from atop furniture that is solely made to refresh a fatigued mind ?
mine apparently does..

and to the left , ladies and gentletmen , you will see a picture of vipul ganatra.
best friend , confidante and boyfriend.

i know he's looking down and i know you can hardly see his face.. he's camera shy .. like chipmunks are .. i've tried taking pictures of chipmunks, i cant seem to.. they're on the tree outside my house all the time , but run like crazy when i get my super cool phone out to take pictures of them ..
vipul doesnt run . he only abuses.. in a nice, endearing way .

so thats it for now .. with the pictures i mean.. not for the ranting .. and you thought you could get away...
you didnt think it was going to be that easy did you ? (for those of you who cant place that dialogue , go do something painful to yourselves. like now..)

ok .. now before i sign off .. everyone who ever comes to this blog knows how much i love too much coffee man , right ? i have mentioned it on several occasions and have even copy - pasted something that the person who reviews the tmcm comic book wrote on a forum known as the coffee filter..

anyway .. he read my blog and he thinks that i am a good writer .. yes .. he does and honestly .. that made my week! . thanks so much, matt !!! thank you for reading the blog.. all the way from america..! where 51% of the moronic population voted for george bush ! which doesnt include you , matt, comment the next time you come this way . so the people will believe me .... !

ok .. dee out.
