Typical Day at Koshy’s (Part I of many)
Amount of time spent there : 1.5 hours.
Number of people one waved at connected to theatre : 3.
Number of people one waved at not connected to theatre : nil.
Number of times one made racially discriminatory / politically incorrect statements : several.
Number of times one made Chippy agree with one that one’s feet look gorgeous : 7.
Number of times one made Chippy agree with one that one’s new bag is gorgeous : 4.
Number of times one laughed loudly and most un-lady like : innumerable .
Number of times we used hand sanitizer : 3.
Number of things we did / said together which proved existence of some strange psychic connection : 2.
Number of times either one of us left to use the bathroom : nil (surprise , surprise!)
Number of times either one of our ‘concerned’ mothers called to find out where we are and how much longer we intend on being there: 1.
Orders : 2 plates of smilies (twice ) ; one black coffee , please.
Bitch , bitch , bitch , laugh , laugh ; say not so nice things about people and laugh some more.
Amount of time spent having serious conversation (not bitching) : 14.6 minutes which included conversation about not-so-dead goldfish.
-That goldfish is dead , Chippy.
-Where? Turns around to look at fish tank
-That big fat one. Its not moving.
Both stare at fish tank for several seconds.
-There , Dee . It just moved.
-Yeah. Maybe it was sleeping or something.
-Don’t make statements like that . Poor thing. Its not dead at all.

Of Buddhism and Bad Plays
Directed by Lilette Dubey. Zen Katha is a play that talks of Prince Bodhidhrama and his travels from India to China where he grows spiritually . The story is of a man who leaves his Brahmin roots to become the founder of the martial arts of Kung Fu as we know it today.
As I wrote this article about the afore mentioned play for my Q Jam fortnight update, I made a mental note to try and catch the play myself .Seems interesting.
It was a sign , surely , as Balaji called me and asked me if I could usher for the play .. bring someone else along as well , he said.
Yay! Two free tickets to play…..
So I went to Chowdiah a little vexed , make that terribly... because everyone I asked to come with me cancelled out in the last minute. Finally Priya said she’d come .
God bless that girl.
The play was terrible . We couldn’t sit through half of it. We left at the interval.
The actors played more than one part , which was disasterous as they couldn’t act at all….let alone do justice to more than one part.
The acting was way to dramatic and unnatural.
The script was discontinuous . I didn’t understand how Prince Dharma jumps in and out of being a Buddhist and being a Hindu Brahmin in different scenes. Maybe it was some cool flash back thing that I didn’t get .. hmmm.
Too much gyan. Every other line had something to do with space, time and planetary forces. That got a little corny after a while .
Low energy on stage , bad acting coupled with an uninteresting script. Priya and I couldn’t take it anymore.
Balaji was apologetic for asking us to usher for a play like this one. Don’t worry about it .. I said , at least I got to meet Sandhya Mridhul ... ok .. so maybe that isn’t so cool.
In my opinion , Lillette Dubey should stick to acting , direction isn’t really her forte.
But then again , no one asked for my opinion.

This is infact the name of a new secret hand gesture to show one’s respect or lack thereof.
It has two versions.
Sorry Shiph , news of hand sanitizer has spread far and wide in the PSA. ALL its 3.2 members now know of it and the ‘secret’ hand shake.
Dudley almost got her fifteen seconds of fame on the tele. She made it to the special episode of Young Posh and Loaded titled – Those who didn’t make the original show owing to the absence of one/more of the pre requisites - Ok ‘lord’ Raj , you’re in.
The show didn’t air as the only thing stupider than the show itself was the title .
Sorry Dudley , but if you marry Lord Raj , you can become his lady , that way you can go clubbing whenever .

Desperately Xeeking Xena
For a whole year, she was the girl who hung out with the really pretty girl on the ledge. I always wanted to know the really pretty girl , don’t get me wrong , but there was something about her that was extremely attractive (in a non lesbian way.. ha!) .
Then I met both of them through Nina sometime last year.
Chippy and Radz .
Radz is one of the most beautiful people I’ve met. Warm and a genuinely sincere person.

A few days back she asked me to change her name to Xena on my cell phone . ‘Im the warrior princess , remember Dee?’

Bonnie the Vegetarian Butcher
I’m a black sheep of sorts in my family. I’m the only one here who eats meat. It’s not such a bad thing I reckon. I don’t have to share when we go out to dinner together.
Yeah, my parents and grand mom have reconciled themselves to the fact that it’s too late to change my eating habits now. October 31st saw the family go out to Spiga for dinner. I ordered a bacon and prawn fettuccine. The waiter almost put the plate down on my grandmother’s place. The face she made was something that’s taken me years to get used to.
It’s amazing how many other things the mind finds to do when one has exams starting in 2 days. Haven’t touched them books. Spent a half hour learning how to play minesweeper from my sister. Think I finally cracked it. Apparently theres some logic to it...
Someone should ask Bacchi Karkaria to give writing a rest. Her article in today’s STOI was particularly stupid. Jug Suraiya ... now theres a funny man.
Went for a long walk . The weather in Bangalore has been beautiful the past few days. The books could wait . Its seemed a pity to pass out on a day like this.
Watched an hour of the Simpson's Hallowe'en special .. Matt Groening is a genius. It was funny shit.
Something about starting a blog. Feel the need to keep writing. Cant think of a way to end this post. Punchline anyone ?

Aptly titled. This post is dedicated to my Homiebro. For widening my horizons and teaching me new things about the English language (or a strange form of the same). As I recall , it all started when he once asked me to give him a shout after class.
'Give me a shout' was at once incorporated into my list of things to say at least once a day to some unsuspecting person . I even added a template of the same on my cell phone.
As wannabe as this may make me out to be.
It was followed by 'keeping it real' , 'hanging a left' , 'homie girl' and getting together and 'kicking it' .
So , thanks heaps , bro (thats australian infiltration) .

Woke up this morning , went for a drive listening to what most people would label crap . Found this old tape with pop hits .. then again , maybe not so old. Enrique , Blue and N'sync. It vexed me that i knew all the words.. hmmm . Sometimes mindless music is good therapy. I've been over analyzed lately.
10:07 Monday morning . Have an exam tomorrow . Havent touched them books yet.Been putting that away for long enough(?) .

Osho - The man is a genius.
Its taken me three months to get through reading 'The tantra experience' and I have now 'embarked upon a new journey' titled 'Courage-The Joy of Living Dangerously'.
I am truly reading the book with an open mind. You need that -- an open mind. Otherwise one would keep the book down after 2 pages and label the man a fruitcake.
'When one is a Christian , a Mohammedan or a Hindu , one is like an ostrich - with your head burried in the ground' . Thats how the book starts . Like i said, to get through 200 pages of it you need an open mind and a lot of patience.
Having gotten through about half the book , the past week has been eventful. i've gone on a Buddha Bar trip . (Spiritual music , sure dee , thats where all the peace comes from . )
I even made a tape of the same for the boyfriend . This is me trying to increase positive energy in the cosmos.
Sat by myself waiting for Nina and Chippy at the ledge. Was getting insights on a new way of living. Some first years come up to me. Made fun of what i was reading. So what if the man says 'love is a rare flowering'. I try to explain one has not to be gramatically correct to make immense sense. They laughed their heads of anyway . Got back to reading . The first thing I read - People can laugh at you, it will do them good -- laughter is always good medicine , healthful. The man has an answer to everything. Healthy , surely thats what he meant.
Osho Gyan - 'If you love someone , give him infinite space. Youre very being is just a space for him to grow in, to grow with. The mind interferes and tries to posses the person, then love is destroyed.' Heres where the boyfriend enters scene again. Didnt call him the entire day , he hasnt called either .Thats me giving him infinite space Will meditate on this fact . Arbit. Thats what the word 'infinte' is.
Wonder how long the peace, calm and positive energy will last. Lets see how long before I want a new cell phone with a camera . I havent come to the chapter about letting go of material desires yet.
