Dee- hydrated , indeed !

Did everyone know that it was me who caused the Tsunami that caused the death of many an innocent person ?

I do not know why I am taking all the credit for one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the universe.
All this secrecy of the new job is making me delirious..

Dalda proved it .. Go read .. Deehydrated is my super woman with many powers type name !!!! Its damn cute..

@ Dalda : Thanks , bro. I am a moody bitch and I do love the water.. How you figured out ?

@ Alice : Pepperspray can be used for many things.. one thing I recommend is , during Cul-ah personality , just generally have someone walk on stage and spray on contestants , the only one who doesn't become comatose , wins , see.. you should make me judge....

@ Dr. Pissed : You quit and guess who took your place ... bwahahahhahaaa ( with thunder and lightning sound effects , since I have those powers vested in me , now )

@ Ladyparadox : Which self respecting Iyer goes to Pecos to eat Appan and Chicken stew ? -- Is what my mother might say .. but give me a high five , sister .. I hear you.

@ Zof : All that music might be a result of insanity .. can i plead insanity ? I was just in that mood that week .. errr.. doesnt justify anything ....

@ the rest of you : If you dont go read that Dalda's post , I will make sure you choke on the next glass of water you drink , i can do that ,you know..

Arrested dee-velopment

Haha ..hmmmm *wiping tear from eye* please hold on while I revel in my ingenius at this most wonderful pun. Please take a look at the title of this post , if you didnt get it.

I thought I'll tell you one story that I was thinking about this morning on my way to work....

Cubicle Cockroach and I went to Peco's one day and then you know what happened ? I'll tell you ... I found pepper spray in her bag .. and I thought , what does this stuff look like ? What colour ? It will be pepper or what ? in an aerosol form ? Colloidal solution , wot ? I was acting smart , no ?

Then I did the smartest thing .. I sprayed some on the table .. white pecos table .. just to see what it looks like .. and it was an orange liquid.

And then two seconds later , theres me , coughing and my eyes are all irate and tearing ..
Then I put Cubicle cockroach's jacket on it and hoped to clean it or whatever .. and before long , owing to the phenomenon of dispersion , the guys on the table next to ours started coughing and then the table next to theirs and soon the whole floor was in tears coughing their lungs out.

By this time , I was feeling hyper guilty about the whole thing , and I was trying to cough most non chalantly to avoid anyone figuring out the source was lil ol me.

All this time , my little chinky friend was sitting with the most 'zen' face as if nothing had happened . As if , it were not in fact her pepper spray that had been peppersprayed and her jacket that was covering it.
So , man on next table starts screaming , what is that ? what are you girls smoking up ?

Then in all indignition , I'm ( like an idiot , mind you) holding up a can of pepper spray , announcing to the entire room , We aren't smoking up anything ... this is Pepper spray ..

Man on next table : WHY DONT YOU LEARN MARTIAL ARTS OR SOMETHING?!
err.. yes .. good point .. umm .. yeah ... and then I went on to drink many beers and eat 4 chicken tacos....

fini.

Mindless Self Indulgance

So I have spent most of this week listening to mindless pop music. Gary Barlow , Kylie Minogue , Shania Twain ... and maybe my saving grace is the Pulp Fiction theme.
So ahead .. mock me .. i dare you..

If life hands you lemons , eat them , scurvy falls short of all the hype.

are you there yet ? huh ? Lady Beryl , this blog was made for you, for lady beryl...

I've been reading some of my older posts , yes I do that sometimes , and I realised , my writing is strangely discontinous.

So today I will leave you with some very interesting words from a Gary Barlow Song that is titled , very intelligently , Love wont wait.
'Love isss soooo haarrddd to finnnd , itttsss so easssyyy to looossse' .

This infact reminds me of a fun story that a colleague told me .. when she went to meet Sri Sri Ravi Shankar .. in an endeaver to do a story on him .. the man gave her wisdom that .. well.. i dont know .. was to cherish ..

'Life is to live ... Death is to die' - How philosophically challenging is that ? In simplicity , therein , lies the greatest truth.

My sarcasm knows no bounds.

A pox on your throat , Tarantino

Before you do anything, you have to go to this link , pacman cometh , my good friend and colleague , Hasina Hasan. It was sweet, Jade, I'm over whelmed really.

Divya can eat four of those indeed... only when she's drunk. How come you didn't mention that... ? huh ? huh ? huh?

I have now realised that I can do one perfect blog entry by copy-pasting text that I find relevant to my mood for the day. I'm like that. Lazy and intelligent. Most of the time anyway.

Since I have already oriented you to this new form of blogging with an introduction from aunty Hasina , we will now continue with this new trend.

2 , Why did Dee Iyer write this entry today ?
.. because she read this one comment on her earlier blog ...

'very nice blog. You seem to have that typical iyer sense of humor, wit, intelligence and a healthy combination of all those.Another interesting perspective to life.'

What more would an aspiring pseudo intellectual , artsy , Iyer woman want ? It was a rhetoric. I can think of many things.... We digress.

Next...

3 , What part of Lady Beryl's blog can we copy-paste to make this all very interesting ?

...'Perhaps the truth will never be known to those it most affects. And perhaps this will be a secret that will die a natural death with its keeper. But there is more than one. They will forever remind you of how you once whored your soul to the devil.'

Intense or what ? Is .. really.. Here .. better left unsaid .. I hope no one in their life has to go through hatred this strong ever.
I've realised that hate and jealousy can make you do things you never thought you were capable of.
Always feel the pain , but dont act on it. This is a lesson I've learnt the hard way.

4, Revenge is a dish best served cold. - First line of one of the best made movies ever. Don't let this line go to your head. No one deserves revenge. Point (3) for more information.

Ok .. Copy pasting job fini.

Of Forbidden Cities and Dimsum

Oh .. so sweet. .. I was away for a bit and all are asking where I disappeared off to ?

I got new job .. yes .. New one .. nice new shiny one..

Center for Knowledge Societies. I will paste here one mail that I wrote some people about the place because I am again using company resources and to tell the story , it will take more time.

Mail:
It so happened this morning that I was informed that all these days I did not , in fact , know the name of my company. The new one. CKS. Center for Knowledge Studies I went about proclaiming. It is , in fact , the Center for Knowledge SOCIETIES.

I think this is rather vexing , considering I am ,of course, in Bizzzzz Dev -- as my boss so fondly likes to call it. I have been developing businesses for my company for the last ten days under this strange impression.

I cannot reveal much else. As I have signed an NDA. This is no means must suggest that I have no idea what this company is doing or what my role is here.

This explains a lot ? Fini ?

Also I have been talking to Chinese people on the phone a lot. I can't tell anyone about what ... but I have been. For many hours a day. On work .. of course.. which is why it is hyper top secret.

They are very sweet but everything needs to be spelt out.. D for dog , I for intelligence , G for giraffe (like Japan ) , no .. no .. like .. ummm .. God ? aaahhh yes..

ok.. now I have to get back to it.. work that is.

Karuna : thank you for missing me soooo much .. teehee...

Have a good one , y'all ..

Dee out.

Evolution: Redefined

She redefined it , the whole concept. Of evolution that is . My good friend Shwetha , she did.

Let me recount parts of the conversation ... so this will pass of as a blog post and Lady Beryl cant accuse me of being plagued by evil demons of Blog Inertia. Scum those are...

Where we left off .. Conversation snippets .. ah yes .. at Koshy's. Between Lady Beryl, Shwetha Bhaskar and meself.

Me: So this colleague of mine has Pirhanas , right .. and he has a dog , and he feeds his dog soya and his fish mutton ... ( satirical smile .. )

(laughter from Lady Beryl , methinks yay .. art student has understood the irony of this situation.. decendants of vicious carnivores eating soya ..)

Contemplative expression on Ms. Bhaskar's face .

Bhaskar: You know .. I'm thinking .. do you think a dog knows that it's eating mutton . I mean how can a dog eat a goat .. isn't a goat bigger than a dog. I mean.. you think dogs know they're eating beef. How can something eat something else that is bigger... Thats like cockroaches eating human beings.

Me:.... (Lets just say satirical smile disappeared to be replaced by most stupified expression).

I mean how can one argue with logic like that. What in the world was God thinking .. Dogs eating 'beef' indeed.

Lets just leave it at that shall we.. I dont see the need to dignify this post with anymore .. i cant take it ... it vexes me .. terribly vexed.

Anyway

Theres this Pearl Jam song I like.. Its called wish list .. Thank you Pulitzer for that introduction.
Now everytime I send Pulitzer a text message , it says I wish I ... yada yada ...

I wish I was the Rain Goddess so I could control the rain
i wish this cuz the rain takes away all my pain ...

(to be sung in the same way.. sound as morose as you can in your head )

Yes ..that sucked .. which is why Eddie Vedder's analogies got him millions of dollars and I am sitting exhausting my company's resources posting this blog.

Tut .. Is all I have to say . Tut.
P.S also I hope you guys got the corelation between cartoon and blog post. Crocodiles eating Zebras ! Egads .. what will those idiots come up with next.

www.tmcm.com

I know a lot of you guys are against copy-pasting .. But this is an awesome thing I came accross on www.tmcm.com . Thats where you can read Too Much Coffee Man .. He's the dude ..
These two articles were written by the reviewer of the book.
Promise originality next time .. Just thought that you guys HAVE to read this !

I Interview Satan:
More and more over the past few years Americans have been using the term "evil" to describe the various manifestations of Islamic extremism. Are you concerned that terrorist groups are stealing your spotlight?

They're an inconvenience, I have to admit. But hey, if they're getting all the attention it just means I've been slacking off. The competition is ultimately a good thing because it will force me to improve, to take my game to the next level.

So in a sense you support a free-market approach to evil?

Definitely, and it's a real relief. Everything with the communists was this huge beuracracy. Evil was dispersed by the state and to do my thing I needed the approval of one committee after another. Everything had to be proposed, quantified, signed in triplicate...the Stalinists were a real bitch to work with.

How would you rate the suicide bombing, in terms of it's evilness?

I'm really not into this indiscriminate killing stuff. Where's the artistry? Where's the finesse? Back in the 80's, if I wanted to send a message, I would just write up a few evil lyrics and quietly place them on a popular rock album. I would even write them backwards, I was all about the subtlety. At the very most I might physically appear on someones shoulder and whisper evil suggestions in their ear...but I would be really, really tiny, an inch tall at the most. These jihadists, on the other hand, they're such drama queens. They're like, "Wow, America really sucks. Anyway..." BOOM!! I'm not getting where the anger is coming from. There are worse things in life than America blowing up your country and building a giant Taco Bell in it's place. I mean, I live in a frickin' lake of fire...I would kill to have a nice strip mall in the area.

America has also seen a huge rise in the popularity of your rival, God. Is this something you are worried about?

It's a problem. Note to Mel Gibson: die please. His action film starring Jesus has been a PR disaster for me. I'm seemingly invisible right now, yet Jesus is selling more DVDs than Shrek 2...so yeah, I've been a little worried.

[Next Week: I kick it with Allah.]

I Field Questions From A Popular Girl Band. Cursing Ensues.
The meaningless wasteland of pop culture has shit out yet another vacuous, no-talent girl band. They were undoubtedly put together by some souless corporate hack eager to sell crass and demeaning fantasies to the herd-like public we so clearly are. They're called The Pussycat Dolls, but don't let the clever double entendre fool you...they're actually very, very stupid. I think a more apt band name would be The Life-like Blow Up Dolls. And surprisingly, their music sucks beyond all knowing. Have you seen them yet? Have you had that misfortune? Like all prancing, scantily-clad morons on MTV they work very hard to convince stupid pre-teen boys that the female body exists solely for the purpose of male gratification. As an added bonus, their new song (which is currently #1 on Billboard's pop singles chart) includes a series of questions for the men out there. Which is just very considerate of them. I mean, I have a little free time today. I'd be happy to answer their questions (and these quotes are actual lyrics from the song...this should depress you. )

Pussycat Dolls: "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?"

No. No I don't. If I'm in the mood for plastic, manufactured beauty I'll hook up with Barbie.

PD: "Don't you wish your girlfriend was a freak like me?"

Oh HELL no. If want a dozen STDs I'll fuck a petri dish, okay?

PD: "Don't you wish your girlfriend was fun like me?"

Right. You're undoubtedly a terrific conversationalist. I mean, gosh, look at these fantastic lyrics you've written. Die.

PD: "Don't you wish your girlfriend was raw like me?"

This doesn't even make sense. Did someone run out of variations on the lyric? Did someone bounce a check from the word bank?

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but there are plenty of talented musicians out there. Find them. Buy their music. Make the scary robot bands go away.

India ..

well .. what can I say ?
I've been meaning to write a blog post about India for a looong loooooong time.
Everytime I hear that song, 'Yeh Jo Desh Hai Mera' , I tend to get all patriotic and all and make a mental note to write a post on my extremely patriotic sentiments.

Having lived in the Gulf for about ten years and having travelled a fair bit, I reckon I can be a fair judge.
And let me tell you, I love India. Everything about it. The smells , the people, the tradition , the culture. It over whelms me .. Honestly.

But the most beautiful thing about this country are the colours. So vivid . So vibrant.

No words can do justice to this post because I can't find the right words to capture the essence of my thoughts.

This is also an excuse for mental inertia at the moment.. ha.

good night and god bless. (this country and all of you reading this :) )

Kermit the Frog of Sesame Street News ...

Everyone must read the last comment on the previous blog post.
Here it is for those of you who didn't read it...

Cool sister u have. I saw its the damned big books in small childrens hands like fountainhead. What a Dumb name anyways burn the damn books and burn all the principles. Lets all be illitrate fools and dance around burning masses of big books. Big books give stupid people power to come up with boring and irritating blogs with lots of fancy words which no one can really understand. Lets all be foolish like Homer.J.Simpson a pioneer in the field and if u the green peace ppl want they can recycle the big book papers and make it toilet papers. While u are at it burn the british leaving Ozzy. You have just been froggified..

haha !
This has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read for a comment.
One angry angry person..

Such beautiful words have hitherto not been spoken

Ayn Rynd is creating havoc in my family. My sixteen year old sister just finished 'Fountainhead' and has embarked upon 'Atlas Shrugged' .

So a couple of days back, Little Pinjit got pulled up in Physics class for not taking notes.
'How can I listen to what you're saying when I'm writing' - was the reply. (In all arrogance , might I add..), which took her all the way to the principal's office.

My mother .. poor poor woman. Tried to make Little Pinjit understand that sometimes one just has to pretend to write and or pretend to listen and have an expression of 'how-could-you-be-intelligent-sir' amazement on one's face no matter what turd the teacher might be talking.

'Thats how the education system works here , kanna . Its been like this forever. You cant do anything about it'.
Poor poor mom.

This greatly vexed my sister who started waving her arms about and screaming - I WILL change the system . That is the problem... no one wants to stand up and change the system. I will NOT write notes in his class. I go there to get an education , not kiss some teacher's arse.... yada yada... ' .

Now through all this , dear mother looks at Pinjit with an expression of deep worry and then she turns to me and says, Its that Ayn Rynd. She's reading too much of that. All that individualism and all.... Turns to my sister - I want you to stop reading that nonsense Pooja.

All this , ladies and gentlemen, was the highlight of my week .. My sisters ego was being attributed to some eccentric Amercian woman which wounded it furthur and she would talk to neither of us that whole day. She's still reading Atlas Shrugged though.

The PSA party was a success. Thank you all. It was wonderful. I dont think I've laughed that much in a long time.

Cheap chinese food , lots of coke and chocolte chip ice cream. Well what can I say. That and 7 highly hyper women from the same college. Full full fun only. Thanks for coming you guys.

I've just started reading 'From the Holy Mountain' by William Dalrymple.
I cant seem to get enough of the Beatles or Oasis. I think its all part of the I'm-so-pseudo-british-i-say-arse-and-not-ass phase.

This is me sighning out.

Sing a song of six pence.

No. I am not going to.
I for one , dont even know what six pence equates to in money that I can use. No Matter.

So I did this thing online which tells you what you were in your last birth , and I was a minstrel BOY , mind you, even though they asked for my gender. No matter.
I guess reincarnation transccends all barriers, including gender issues.

Methinks , maybe.
Which brings us to the topic for this mornings blog post.

ahem ..... Music in my life.

So Im going to list out these songs that have a profound influence on my life...
(oh what style... profundity is the new thing for me to do. )

Songs in no particular order. Just .

1, Hey Jude - Beatles - Reminds me of growing up . My mum is a biiiig John Lennon fan.

2, Black - Pearl Jam - Always playing wherever Vipul Ganatra. And if it isnt , he's singing it.. I dont think Eddie Vedder has the most amazing voice on the planet , although he seems to think so .. At least something to that effect. So its like his song.

3, Song Bird - Oasis - Always makes me smile .. ALWAYS. whatever I'm doing .. Reminds me of open fields and butterflies. Slight drizzle. Smallish body of water in the vicinity.

4, Girl in the Dirty shirt - Oasis - Very nice. The song is an order. Favourite line - 'Give me just a smile and wont you make it snappy.. get our shit together , girl. ' Thank you Mr. Gallagher . I couldn't have put it better myself.

5, Fucker Gone Nuts - Benni Bennasi - Song that was playing when I regurgitated in my boss' car. End thought.

6, Clarity - John Mayer - Beautiful. Always reminds me of Kodai. Lots of mist, green, cold and rain . I looove that place.

7, Champagne Supernova - Oasis - well. what can I say. First Oasis song I ever heard and I fell in love with them immediately. Also the first song I asked Ganatra to play on the first day of work.

8, The Game of love - Santana feat. Michelle Branche - So nice it is, that song. So true also.

9, Psycotrip - Buddha Bar - Buddha Trance - Another one of those sitting on misty Kodai Hill songs. Very peaceful.

Enough.

PLease watch this space for a list of D's favourites.
Have a good one.

Fulte music - Allow me to explain

When I meant I have many flute music moments in a day , its more like I have many -a- moment in the day when someone asks me a question and in my head I'd go - Get that flutist out here !

For example :

1, You're a micro biology student .. How come you're a copy writer in an event management company ... ?
Ummm.. (with back ground score) .. So my dad fell ill and I had to keep myself busy.....

2, How come you're drinking thums up ?
(With Background score) .. So the store ran out of diet coke and I searched and searched....

3, You look so tired , Dee . what happened ?
(With back ground score) .. So this event business , slave labour I tell you ...

There Zofo .. Pretty good huh ? The explaination ..
Just because I have many flute music moments , it doesnt mean I fall in love all the time .. :) . Silly boy.
I'm using it on a more generic level.

And yes m.a.d , 100% agree but I wouldn't go so far as to poke their eyes out. Work on that negativity dude. Its a disease.

Lady Beryl . Well what can I say... I watched the movie more than five times. I admit. I never ever noticed that. Now I feel judged. Upside down is it .. Intriguing.

Come back y'all .
Ta

Flute Music

So this is a stolen concept type blog post.

So typical Hindi Movie scenario - We have rich heroine and really poor orphan hero , right ?
So they sit in some isolated corner at a party or a beach ..
And heroine goes on and on about her life and mama, papa, fast sports car, short skirts and extremely fluffy doggies .

She then directs question to hero - Tumhare ghar main kaun kaun hai ?

And this , my friends , is the perfect setting for a flute music moment.

Ever noticed how the hero's eyes go all misty and there's flute music in the background.
The hero then finds the right time to break eye contact with the pretty lady and talk to the camera.

Mr. Vallore says if the woman is paying attention to the back ground score, she'd know whats coming and fall in love with him anyway and then go through getting kicked out of the house, go from wearing short skirts to sarees and then having children . Never mind. I digress.

So I have many 'flute music' moments in a day . I do . Honest.

Moving Right Along....

Also. Welcome to Iyer Up the Ladder ,Dr.Pissed , I hate cloves in those laddoos too. Vortex of negativity. HE is really. Meditate. You need to let some positive energy in.

Thank you once again Lady Beryl. What would I do without your constant chanting?

Let there be love.

So I'm going to let you in on a little secret .. I'm in love . And its true.
And no.. Its not one of these I'm in love with Joaquin Phoenix or Noel Gallagher type posts. Although those be nice too. :)

I'm talking about being in love with a boy. A real boy. His name is Vipul Ganatra. And he's a rock star.
We work together at Phase 1. Which means that I only know him for a little more than two months. And as cliche as this sounds, it seems like I 've known him for so much longer.

So I admit , I had one teeensy crush on him on the first day of work , and then the crush got bigger and bigger and by the end of the week , it was like one of those ... everytime he looked at me or paid me any attention , those butterflies were really doing all those cliched things that people say they do in their stomach ... ( it seems that my fear of being called cliched has lead to me writing inane nonsense.)

Anyway .. I will now proceed to list out the reasons why Vipul 'Rock Star ' Ganatra rocks my world .. (oh no ! Is there no end to this corniness !! heave .. sob .. )

Here it is Ganatra. Prepare to be embarassed out of your wits. I love you.

1, I'll never forget the way you looked at me the day I told you that I was the rain child.
If anyone is looking for anything mushy here .. scroll down lots..
It was more a look that said ' umm .. does anyone know where Oum picked up this demented person? Send her back to there please. She needs help .. from men in white lab coats. '
But that day I knew that I was falling for you.

2, I will never ever forget how you were there for me when my dad passed away. And how you still are there for me everytime I need you.

3, Despite my superior copy skills ( all you cynics may leave now) , I cant find the words to explain how I feel when you're around the office. You dont have to talk to me. Just knowing that you're there in the vicinity makes me feel hyper secure.

4, You always listen to all the silly things I have to say , even if I say three like I've had a few teeth knocked out and actually encourage things like me wondering what my surname would be like if I ever marry you .. hehe

5, Conversations about Naina and Sahil ( needs to be worked out, man ... ). Conversations of Khushi and colour coordination. Conversations of Jo , the Dil-man. I'm smiling already.

6, All those times I was a little insecure or paranoid ,it will never cease to amaze me how you have the patience to put up with me reading your messages and msn history and actually answering questions I would ask you instead of telling me to mind my own business and respect your pivacy . ( which is the gyan that I would give you by the way , if you tried something like that ..just kidding .. ok ,, may be not ).

7, I love that you come home to dinner and play chess with my sister. I also love that you have been talking about buying me a birthday present since July 12th and that hasn't happened yet.

8, As many times as I've told you this , I want you to know that I respect you so much for the kind of person you are, that you know seven languages, that you won those debates in all those languages . I guess the best man did win.

9, There are too many things to list out here Ganatra. And I prolly didnt mention a lot of hyper special things we've shared. But when I'm with you , theres no where else I'd rather be and when you're around , I have everything I need. Especially if you come around with a can of Diet Coke and a Snickers Bar, then I wouldn't even be lying.

10, I just want you to know that I'm not ever going away ( hmm .. even though I mean this as a sign of reassurance , I think it came out as a threat) . But seriously, Im here to stay . Not because you might want me to , but because I want to.

My good friend Noel Gallagher asked to make special apprearance on the post :
I could be your lover, You could be all mine.
We go on forever ,Till the end of time.
You could be my best friend ,Stay up all night long.
You could be my railroad ,We'd go on and on.
Lets get along There's nothing here to do.
Lets go find a rainbow.
No one can break us
No one could take us
If they tried

Harry Potter .. The magic is contagious .. teehee

Thiswas sent to me from one friend. Heehee..

Purely in the interests of science, I have replaced the word "wand" with "wang" in the first Harry Potter Book Let's see the results...
"Why aren't you supposed to do magic?" asked Harry.
"Oh, well -- I was at Hogwarts meself but I -- er -- got expelled, ter tell yeh the truth. In me third year. They snapped me wang in half an' everything
A magic wang... this was what Harry had been really looking forward to.
"Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter." It wasn't a question. "You have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wang. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wang for charm work."
"Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wang. Eleven inches.
Harry took the wang. He felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised the wang above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls
"Oh, move over," Hermione snarled. She grabbed Harry's wang, tapped the lock, and whispered, 'Alohomora!"
The troll couldn't feel Harry hanging there, but even a troll will notice if you stick a long bit of wood up its nose, and Harry's wang had still been in his hand when he'd jumped - it had gone straight up one of the troll's nostrils.
He bent down and pulled his wang out of the troll's nose. It was covered in what looked like lumpy gray glue.
He ran onto the field as you fell, waved his wang, and you sort of slowed down before you hit the ground. Then he whirled his wang at the dementors. Shot silver stuff at them.
Ok I have found, definitive proof that J.K Rowling is a dirty DIRTY woman, making a fool of us all
"Yes," Harry said, gripping his wang very tightly, and moving into the middle of the deserted classroom. He tried to keep his mind on flying, but something else kept intruding.... Any second now, he might hear his mother again... but he shouldn't think that, or he would hear her again, and he didn't want to... or did he?
Something silver-white, something enormous, erupted from the end of his wang
Then, with a sigh, he raised his wang and prodded the silvery substance with its tip.
'Get - off - me!' Harry gasped. For a few seconds they struggled, Harry pulling at his uncles sausage-like fingers with his left hand, his right maintaining a firm grip on his raised wang.

Now why you take dis pikchure of a goose?

Excellent Question ...
Today is my day of being poised , analytical and nonchalant.

Nonchalance is apparently in style now. Not that I'm a style queen or anything. Just. Thought it would be fun to do this for a day. Maybe if I like it , I should continue huh ?

R , R and R..

I so seems that a week of R and R is way too much for me to handle. Rest and Relaxation led to a great deal of Restlessness. Which then led to me going on a shopping spree and spending four thousand rupees in the last week. Mind you , I terribly needed all the stuff I bought. Including my second pair of slippers in the same week. Very nice.
So I went back to work with Phase 1 .. It’s a long story , to cut it short I realized I’m happier here …
So you know what else is cut extremely short , my hairs .. on my head ya ?

Also I went to an old friend’s wedding. It just so happened that captain 365 belonged to a particular religion that believed that goats were only put in this world to be eaten.
Also the reception was like in two separate rooms. One for the bride and one for the groom.
Awesome huh? But I didn’t even eat any mutton biryani. I hung around the men’s section in fact with my sister and Najla. Cuz that was the vegetarian section and my sister tends to believe that goats are only here to pet and go awwww…

I firmly believe when they grow out of the awwww stage , its ok to eat them.
And I call myself a Brahmin. Vehemently at that.

So happy Independence Day all. Belated. Feels good to be Indian and all that. Honest.
Everytime I see that ‘Yeh Jo Desh hai mera song’ on the tele from that Swades song, I go. awwwww. Misty eyes and all. No sarcasm here.. Honest.

Have I mentioned to anyone that my favorite Kill Bill character is Sofie Fatale? Gosh, Julie Dreyfus looks gorgeous in that movie. She does. I’m not going to say honest. It gets really cliché then. Honest. Ha.

To take into consideration Kris’ query about the query, in fact the question was both for men and women. I meant why are the men and women in the Apprentice always so good looking? And Bill, one of the most good looking men won the last season. It’s a scam I tell you.
Ok. Now I’m at work. And I’ll leave soon. Because it just so happens that I’m sleep deprived. Yes I am . Sleep deprived.

Lady Beryl ! part 2

pleaassseeee go to www.ahwonderland.blogspot.com and read the post there on skin queries or something . im the one who posted question ..
LAdy Beryl was sweet enough to answer it .. that too so sweetly ..
love you Lady Beryl !!!!

Lady Beryl !

R and R

Not Rewards and renumeration.
I mean rest and relaxation.
For it is that time in my life .. hah ..

I've been under stress lately apparently.. Maybe so .. Had migraines and been throwing up .. Regurgitation seems to be my favourite activity offlate .. ( read post titled what's up? Ill tell you .. dated 24th may for more information on my partially digested food) .

So the doctor found nothing wrong with me but said it was prolly stress. Since I haven't taken any time off work ever since my dad passed away .
Me thinks it was my way of handling it . Apparently all this pent up emotional stress can cause these problems. yes yes . I'm the science student. I knew..

that's that.

One week of sleeping 10 hours a day , playing as much Unreal as I want, long walks, watching tele, watching Gladiator at least another 6 times ... Egads.. How can I forget blogging and all that useless time I spend online.

To quote my good friend Noel Gallagher :
I don't mind ,
as long as there's a bed beneath the stars that shine .
I'll be fine .. Give me a minute.
A man's got a limit.
I can't get a life if my heart's not in it..

Anyway . I want to take this opportunity to thank Uncle Chen .. His business interactions with a certain lady , which are happening on a daily basis , are the highlight of my day ..

This is me signing out.

Right , right , left , right.

Those were the directions I took from one Rohit from Wizcraft, boyfriend of former colleague at Phase 1. It was the way to Wizcraft , Bangalore from 12th main cross on 100 ft Road.
Thats where I work now Am Copy Writer with creative team. Also an event management company , rivals sometimes them two companies are.
Egads! I'm vicious.
Anyway , so thats that . I made an eighteen slide powerpoint presentation for employees of the old company.
They were very impressed. Im sure.

Anyway right , right, left , right are the directions I still follow when I go up 100 feet Road. I mean I have to conciously tell myself ..
right .. then being laterally challenged , I'll forget which hand my right hand is .. I'll look down at my hands , try to make writing action, look at which hand comes naturally , ah! then it must be right. So obviously the other one is left. Thank God I'm not ambi dextrious. Disaster that.
Better than little sister , who when sitting in an auto , will shout out right , right while pointing out to the left. Tut.

Been hooked to Dilbert for a bit now. Everyone should read. I insist. Really. Go make ourselves Useful. If thats possible.

Lady Beryl , I've only written this post as a result of your slogan .. If not , I would have sat on that lazy arse and waited somemore for blog bug to bite. So if there isnt a comment by you , it would hurt my heart.
Be good all.

Eds note.

Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theater. It was founded early in the 17th century by Okuni, a shrine maiden who brought her unique and lively dance style to the dry river beds of the ancient capital of Kyoto, and over the next 300 years developed into a sophisticated, highly stylized form of theater.

Kabuki is a traditional Japanese form of theater with its origins in the Edo period. Kabuki, in contrast to the older surviving Japanese art forms such as Noh, was the popular culture of the townspeople and not of the higher social classes.

Kabuki plays are about historical events, moral conflicts in love relationships and the like. The actors use an old fashioned language which is difficult to understand even for some Japanese people. They speak in a monotonous voice and are accompanied by traditional Japanese instruments.

This post is to point out to Zofo that Kabuki is indeed a Japanese Art form .
I first read about it in one of my favourite books . Memoirs of a Geisha. And Geisha are most certainly Japanese.

Have a good day all.

Kabuki

What is it about this word ? I dont know. I just like the way it sounds huh ? Kabuki ..
Its a traditional form of Japanese theatre in case you were wondering . Which I'm sure you were.

Watched Trainspotting a couple of days back. Yesterday actually. Tut.
Depressing movie. I dont know how someone called it 'outrageously funny'. Indeed. Whoever it was had one morose sense of humour.

Last few days at work . Feel liberated. It wasnt an order. It was a thought.

Begone, ye beast..

Read this ad in the Bangalore times this morning,
If you have termites , call (some number) .
We use scent-free and hassle free pest control.
And whats more , we kill those white beasts..
Egads.. Whats more .. they kill those white beasts.
Vexed... Terribly..

Quit my job as copy writer for Phase 1 . Now on to Phase 2 (groan).

Been terribly busy finishing up work here and am also on the lookout.
Birthday came and went. Am now 21 .. Legal now everywhere in the world.
For those of you who called me and all .. thank you kindly.
For those of you who didnt , dont expect a call from me on your birthday.
Then again .. maybe you can ..
Damn .. Sometimes being a good person works not in my favour.

Talk to the hand.

So comes Saturday morning , and Dee opens the morning paper .. We'll now stop this third person thing.

So I read the quote on the top left hand corner of TOI -
' Sometimes I wish that I was the weather. You'd bring me up in conversation forever. And when it rains, I'd be the talk of the day'.
Now is that an awww rendering statement or what ?
And it was none other than my cute boy John Mayer. So I sent that quote as a text message to many of them people .
Replies:
1, Only John Mayer could say something so corny and make it sound cute. (I sensed the cynicism in that one, dont deny it, Babmi).
2, Sometimes the weather sucks and it's just a conversation filler.
3, What an attention craving man .

See , now .. let me explain something ... by the advice of my dear friend Vorkady who thinks I've only been posting 'thank you' blogs , this one is homage to the part of me that believes i dont care a rat's ass.

I dont care what you think about the afore mentioned quote - I still its awwww-fully cute .
(Groan . sorry about that one... I deserve 'pun'' ishment) .. teehee .

Some one also mentioned that Joaquin Phoenix looked awful and fat in Ladder 49.
Well, I love him and thats all that matters.

So there . ... this is for all ye cretins.
Talk to the hand , cuz the face aint listening .. whoa .. full attitude .

All ye should also check out http://www.savagechickens.com/ .. god .. funny .. funneeee stuff ..

Shannon Wheeler and Doug Savage are my gurus .
For those of you who still havent checkout out too much coffee man .. its www.tmcm.com .

Fairy Wings

The picture I've added to the blog is the last picture taken of my dad with the family .. actually the last picture taken of my dad.

This is before he left to Tanzania and .. well .. left us for good .

God sure is one mysterious guy , theres no telling when he's going to sneak up on someone you love so dearly and take them away forever. No chance for you to say good bye , no time for you to do all the things you planned to do.

Death is a terrible ,selfish thing -It takes you away to a better place and leaves everyone here alone to grieve your absence .

Its ridiculous to question why these things happen or what we did to deserve it - no one does anything to deserve these things. Its all part of this big plan . That way the cosmos works , where good things and bad things happen.

Positive to negate the Negative and vice versa.

Dad was always an arrogant and cynical man. Didnt think anyone should wallow in self pity. Didnt think it was justified for any reason . Always believed that the most bitter truth about life that it went on - didnt wait for anyone. And that the sooner one accepted that , the easier it would be to live it , respecting its rules and unpredictability.

Trying to live by his advice was the hardest thing for me to do when he left us so suddenly.

I allowed myself time to grieve.
I dont know how I got the strength to get through what happened - the shock , seeing his body , performing the last rites, accepting condolances from family and friends , some of whom I hadn't seen in years. Theres not much they could do or say. Not much anybody can do or say. But custom is custom. And it is customary to offer condolances when someone passes away.

There is something i read once at a restaurant that I thought about when I wondered where my sister , mom and I got the strength to get through Dad's death - A woman is like tea - she only knows her strength when she gets into hot water. Thats my family alright - the three of us took woman power to a whole new level !

But personally , my strength I gathered from harsh reality - the need to be strong for the rest of the family , the need to be strong as the oldest daughter facing new responsibilities, the need to be strong to get back to work and most importantly the need to be strong for my father. Because i know he woulnt want me to sit and wallow in the 'why-mes?' and 'what did we do to deserve this'.

I know that he is sitting on some cloud with fairy wings and a drink in his hand (Ballentine's whisky and soda , if its stocked in that big bar up in the sky) looking down on us . And i know that the fact that both his daughters (who he firmly believed would have been better off being boys) , are going on with life makes him proud . And I hope that we continue to live up to that.

Here's to Vijay Ramamurthi ( whom I 'affectionately' called Aurangzeb - because we couldnt listen to the tele or music too loud- it was apparently sensitive hearing .. ahem .. and no one could talk when he was driving) .
I'll always love you ,Pa.
I promise to drive the car carefully , exercise often, take care of Mom and Juj , fight my own battles , face consequences for my actions and not to steal stationary supplies from the office.
And I know that wherever you are , you'll thoroughly scrutinize the boy Juja and I want to marry because he'll never be good enough for us.
I love you dearly will miss you always even if time does make some of the pain go away.

Thank you kindly to every one who helped me get through this - you know who you are .. too many to name .. to the phase 1 team for accepting me and being extrememly supportive - you guys dont know what a big difference you made in helping me get through this... and to friends and family .. the people you take so much for granted but are always there ( see .. thats an extension of me taking you for granted again :) ) ...

At the End of the day , without life , all else if just wind and dust.

Long post. Sentimental. End thought.

And by public demand ....

This is one of my longest blogs .. also one of the first .. written about a year and a half back ... it isnt great . But it really is an experience I'll never forget.
This one's for Ms. Ayesha Beryl Dsouza who sticks by how it the funniest i've written ..
I miss the PSA and the Union . Thanks for all the attendance and the great times .. Cheers .....

This particular incident happened on the way to the station when we were going to Hampi about a month back. My good first male cousin on my good mothers side Prashant was visiting from Australia. We hired three autos to get to city station, one with the elders, one with my good parents and good sister and in the third auto (the most fun one!!) my good self my good cousin Neeru .
Now good cousin 'Shant had a bit of a wierd habit. He would ask anyone who made eye contact with him ' how it was going' This would happen with strangers on the road, waiters, salespeople and even beggars. When beggars approached him to ask for money, good cousin 'shant would smile and say 'hey! hows it goin ?' now im sure if the beggars understood they'd prolly say 'how do you think its going dumbass? I have four kids, a drunk husband who comes home everynight and beats me up, ive been knocked up again and with absolutely no self dignity i'm asking misers like you for money' ... anyway .. coming back to why i started writing this story.

On our way to the station, 'shant started conversation with the auto driver. Much to our luck he was a drunken maniac.
Conversation went like this:
'Shant('s) : Driving autos must be fun huh ? this thing gearless?
D : naah .. five gears
's: youre kidding ..
auto : correct five gears.
Crazy cousin from australia took this as an opportunity
's: Is it easy to drive an auto?
auto: english dont know's : translate that into tamil
D (in retarded tamil): auto driving kashtama? (is it difficult to drive an auto?)
auto: no no very easy
's: cool .. i want to drive an auto ... will you teach me?
auto (with a sudden mastery over the english language): yes. i teach you , if you teach me english. you give me telephone number.. i will come to house and teach
D and Neeru tried to make 'Shant understand not to make conversation with crazy auto driver type fellow.
Inane conversation went on despite efforts to stop them from talking.
auto : ande 'fucking' na yenna (what does fucking mean?) at which point good cousin Neeru tried very hard to jump out of the auto.
D (bravely) : ade rombe kette varthon (thats a very bad word)
auto : apadiya , ore naal ore ponne cholite 'listen' , naa chonne ' you fucking'.. ( one day a girl said listen and i said you fucking (fucking what ? ) .. )mauto (continuing) : na nanchen listen na kette varthon, naan chonne you fuckin ( i thought listen was a heaps bad word , so i said you fucking)and the idiot kept screaming the four letter word its continous tense .. i'm dreading to think what people on the road woulda thought...
D and Neeru had to fight urges to throw 'shant out for starting this..
'shant(whispering) : this is freaky man... finally it seemed like God was trying to help us.
The auto guy pulled into cantt. station, at which point i'm-suffering-from-foot-in-mouth-disease D says : hey . arent we supposed to go to city station
's: shut up! lets get out and get another auto .. ( apparently not too happy with 'how it was going')too late .
D took the divine opportunity and shoved it back in God's face. Thank you very much good sir .. but id rather ride with the drunk fool for another half hour and hold on to dear life...
auto guy heard this and said : no problem , i go to city station.(at this point Neeru resigned to her fate , started writing her will and began cursing that she would die a virgin )
Good mother rajashree decided to call on D's phone (voice cracking and connection breaking up ) : Kanna , Our auto's run out of gas, we've stopped near canttl, it'll take sometime , dont worrt if were late...
D (I'm-still-suffering-from-foot-in-mouth-disease) : WHAT ?? YOURE AT CANTT ??? MOM ? I CANT HEAR YOU ? THE AUTO ? STOPPED ?? YOULL BE LATE ?? YOURE BREAKING UP !!
auto ( never missing an opportunity to use profainity) : kya chuth (what a cunt).. no gas ? kya ? kahaan hai ? cantonment mein ? maine bola mujhe malum .. me follow i said.. me follow to station ... quite convieniently forgetting that he took us to the wrong station.fortunately .
good cousin 'shant kept mum all the way to the station. When we got there, D , Neeru and Shant did a little song and dance routine thanking all the Gods they could name for safely getting them to the station ..
The auto driver though hadnt forgotten about the you teach english, i teach auto deal .. m.a.d : i give you 400 rupees .. you give number .,,. i teach auto .
'shant: no im not from here ....
Luckily at that time the other good autos (carrying the rest of the extended family that was visiting Hampi )also reached their destination (which happened to be the same as ours! ..)
The other autos charged rs.80 while yours truly asked for a hundred and insisted on asking for phone numbers.... my granmother argued with the man about 20 rupees .. at which point to avoid spending anytime in the general viscinity of the idiot, D said .. just give him the money and lets go!and hence we made it to Hampi with no furthur hiccups .. but good cousin prashant couldnt stop about how India sure was a wierd place ..

Dreams are Made of These.

I am one of those people who believes that I suffer from every psychological condition that exists. But I am now convinced that there is one condition that doesn’t plague my cerebral hemispheres .
Claustrophobia .

Strike it off that list , Vorkady.
Discovered this about 11:30 a.m this morning on my way out to meet Homieboy for brunch.
‘Might be late , I’m stuck in my lift’.
‘Just be patient and breathe’ was the reply.

Was breathing , was being patient. Didn’t bother me , honest. Was just hungry as hell and needed to get to Koshy’s soon ..
So there.. now that we’ve established that.

The past few days have been really crazy for me . (doesn’t explain why I haven’t written in over 4 months) . My dad’s in a hospital in Tanzania ,after suffering from a stroke and a nine hour surgery that followed.
He’s there with my mom , aunt and an I.V drip for company.
Recovering.

Please keep the faith and don’t stop praying . Its all that positive energy that’s giving him and the family strength to get through this. I really believe that. Things are better now and he’s in a stable condition.

Many of the good people of Bangalore have been taking me out to help me keep the spirits up.

Ashwin (green eyes) , Daddoo , Ranjana and I went to a West Indian restaurant. When Ashwin first said it was a West Indian restaurant, word association went like this.

West Indian- West India – West Bengal – Bengali food ? – Good fish – wait- West Bengal is actually East India – West - Maharashtrian – Goan ? – Also good fish.

Its only when I opened the menu and read Trinidad special is when I discovered it was actually food from The WEST INDIES ….
Yes.. Enlightenment finally hit me .
Must thank Selvin ( Selvam? ) and his family who offered many an instance for me to laugh like a woman possessed. Also equally entertaining was a Jamaican song titled Oye Bebe.
An interesting evening - interspersed with threats from Ashwin ( I’ll throw this knife at you) , and interruptions from Selvin who convinced Ashwin that he was ‘discharged’ from prison . If such a thing is possible.
Thank you Cuteness , I owe you.

Thank you Homieboy for brunch and interesting conversation .

Thank you Cowie Tubby for ice cream , apple cake and good music.

Hande- Just for being there. I might yell at you heaps .. but its because of all the love (teehee) …

Went to Infinitea with Vorkady . Had one of the most mind – buggering conversations I’ve had with anyone in a long time .
Had tea which had a hint of spearmint flavour which we gathered with the help of a phenomenon we call olfaction. Otherwise it tasted like hot water.
Thank you Vorkady for dinner and ‘intellectual’ conversation. We only used the word ‘paroxysm’ 528 times.

There are so many people I need to thank for helping me get though this. You all can’t even begin to imagine how much I needed and appreciated all your emotional support.

Family – the whole bunch of you . Thank you for the emails , the phone calls and the messages. Shant , Roopa , Ashwin , the whole of Dad’s side , all the chittis , perimas , peripas , mamas , chittappas and mamis. Jayanti aunty and Prakash uncle ..
There are too many of you to name. I love you .

Big shout out to K K Raja , cant describe how much you mean to me .. although this doesn’t make all the mental notes go away. Haha …

And all my homies in da hood (teehee) …
Thank you for all the patience and freebies ! ( Im still on a caffeine trip from all the diet coke , Zauj ! ) .
Cowie Tubby , Zauj , Bubbly , Cuteness , Hande, Vorkady, Bunchy (Kanishka’s mom!), Fatty G , nj, Ms. Van Horn , Ppd ,Tanvi , Dub, Ya sister …. And so many more of you … I’m sorry if I haven’t mentioned your names here but thank you all the same.

And finally -- to Goblin and the Lipton Ice tea sales man who gave me a carton of Ice tea for free ( to protect me from an evil I affectionately call Diet coke). They know who they are and they don’t know how much they mean to me .
I love them immensely .
I dedicate this post to the both of them . For all the wisdom and love. God bless you.

On a lighter note , has anybody noticed the crazy butterfly phenomenon that’s been going on ? So many of them , all over the place , all sizes , pretty colours . Sometimes you can see more than 50 of them in one place... So beautiful that its mind blowing.

Like a wise man once said (!) – Dreams are made of these. They are you know. Really.

Everytime I see them , they make me smile .
They remind me of all the good things to come. All the things to look forward to . All the things that make life so colourful . All the things that make life worth living.

pigs dont fly-- never say die

hallelujah.

the PSA finally started doing some work.

time spent at koshy's : 3 hours

number of extemp topics we came up with : 30 !

number of judges confirmed : 6

then again all three hours spent did not involve productive work. haha. The PSA is known not to do things on time. And waste a lot of it even when we do have it. The last few sentences dont make too much sense.

Work was interrupted by a lot of things. For one Nina , Saz and I cant really hold on to one train of thought for too long. Damn parallel thought processes and short attention spans.

For another, it was other people. Damn that were popular (hehe) . Hello Ed , Happy New year Mr.Koshy .....

Also in true bitchcat fashion , we had to make fun of the people on the table next to ours. Definate call centre accents ... the lady smoking was proud that the first (note how she handled the word with a beautiful american accent) time she tried , she didnt cough.

Talk of the recent tsunami problem . Things people call it range from tusmani to toshiba (i kid you not) . Wat-er problem no ? get it . haha saz.

Were also slightly interrupted by some thing that caused me more than a little bit of ajith-tation . haha saz two times over.

luckily the cause of deep vexation came and left almost immediately.

Welcome Kousthub. And later his good friend Sriram . Lots of talk concerning the superiority of the Tam-Brahms. Its almost funny how we think we're so cool. Not to suggest that we arent.

Nina .. i think you need to buy a dog.

yay. all set for thursday.

take me away

cuz i just dont wanna stay ,

and the lies you make me say , its getting deeper everyday.

These are crazy days , but it makes me shine

Time keeps rolling by

All around the world , you gotta spread the word

Tell 'em what you heard

Its gonna be a better day !

Pigs dont fly -- so never say die !

before bed

Always have a hot shower before going to bed.

worried . about a hundred million things. Dont seem to matter too much now.

The hot water and smell of soap is extremely soothing.

Being clean makes me happy.

Its not fair whats happening to the people who were affected by the tsunami.

Something I watched on the tele this morning about some one I know makes me smile.

Remover of obstacles. Ganesha is cool.

Nature has a way of keeping things in equilibrium. When there's sadness someplace. There's also an equal intensity of happiness someplace else.

The beat goes on.

I'll go where the wind takes me.

Water sluicing through soap and the grime. Seems to be taking the tension and anxieties away with it too.

Can hear the puppies in the lot behind the house playing. They're so beautiful . Makes me smile. There is a God. Or some power that makes nature so beautiful. And strong. Thinking about the tsunami again.

The hot water's run out. Get out of the shower. Dress up and get ready for bed.

G'night.
